We're inviting you to take part in a study for children and adolescents who suffer from constipation to evaluate the effect of the investigational drug on treating the symptoms associated with constipation. All study-related visits, tests, care, and study drug will be provided at no cost. In addition, compensation for study-related travel may be provided. Health insurance is not required to participate.
The study will be evaluating the efficacy of an investigational study drug for pediatric constipation. Volunteers who qualify to take part in the study may receive compensation for time and travel expenses.
Qualified Participants are:
- Between 6 and 17 years of age
- Experience 2 or fewer bowel movements per week (without laxatives)
All study-related care will be provided by a team of medical professionals.

About Constipation in Children
Functional constipation is a common health issue for children of all ages. It can cause infrequent and hard stools, usually accompanied by discomfort and abdominal pain.
In some cases, manual dis-impaction (removal of the rectal fecal mass) is required, followed by a course of other long-term medication.
About 40% of children who suffer from constipation and are referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist remain symptomatic after 5 years. These symptoms may persist into adulthood.

The research team will be able to explain more about what the Pediatric Constipation will involve, and it is up to you to decide if you want to take part. Participation in this study is voluntary. Whether or not you decide to participate in this study will not affect your current or future relationships with your doctors. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without affecting those relationships or the care you receive.

We match you to a study clinic within a close travel distance from your home. If we are not running the study in your area currently, with your permission, we will keep you in our database and reach out once a study clinic in your area becomes available. If, at any time, you decide you no longer want to participate in the study, you can opt out and we will delete your information.
